Personalized Prenatal Care
During the first appointment, I perform a screening for pregnancy risk factors, based on personal and family medical history, physical exam, and a base laboratory testing (blood work and urinalysis).
I provide gentle and respectful prenatal care every 4 weeks until 30 weeks of gestation, biweekly until 36 weeks, and after that every week until your baby arrives. One of the weekly prenatal appointments will be done at your home. At every visit I will monitor: blood pressure, accumulation of weight, uterine growth, urine stick testing for glucose, protein, leukocytes and blood; fetal heart rate, fetal position and estimate of size, and monitor of hemoglobin (3rd trimester). Also we’ll talk about your birth options and preferences. I will provide you with informative printed materials, and lend you quality books about pregnancy, birth , postpartum, and lactation. Ultrasounds are available as well.
